Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Restomod with a Heart Pounding 350CI V8 Automatic
As a top retailer of customs, specialties and historical artifacts, Elite Restomods makes it easy for you to find cool versions of a variety of collector cars. With that in mind, we’re also the outfit that strives to bring our clients unique and well-done offerings that are approachable and easily streetable. On that note, our latest classic is this sweet Chevy 3100: a timeless resto-mod thanks to its meticulous two year restoration, has modern air conditioning, proven 350/700R4 drivetrain, and cruises the blacktop like a champ!
Perfect in Cream
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this polished pickup is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that mixed throw back looks a few modern conveniences. All that lovable charm was carefully sealed in refreshing cream paint. And today, the truck rolls as unique but familiar street rod art that’s easy to live with and even easier to look at! The exhibit kicks off with a painted bumper, which guards a matching grille that centers small parking lamps and lights. A spectacular wood bed centers a relocated fuel filler amid polished skid strips. And behind that filler, a custom roll pan frames a massaged tailgate, custom post caps and polished LED taillights
Small Block Power
Pop the hood and you’ll find 350 cubic inches of proven Chevy small block that’s been polished, rebuilt and fitted with spry Vortec heads. Those iron caps get fed by a coated Edelbrock 4-barrel, which rides between a lightweight Edelbrock intake and a polished hot rod air cleaner. At the perimeter of that intake, polished Chevrolet valve covers hang a polished bowtie oil cap opposite a polished Edelbrock breather. The fires get lit by a hot HEI distributor, which sparks loomed Taylor plug wires. Spent gases fall through stainless Hooker Super Comp block huggers. At the front of those tubes, billet brackets and pulleys spin a polished alternator and a polished AC compressor. At the front of those ancillaries, a beefy Walker radiator pairs a polished bowtie cap with a large electric puller fan. And details like trick dipsticks, braided fluid lines and a smoothed firewall mix first-rate looks with first-rate functionality.
Enjoy the Drive
Slide under this rig and you’ll find a clean, road ready undercarriage that’s founded on a thoughtfully modified chassis. At the front of those Satin Black bones, a trusty Heidts suspension frames power rack-and-pinion steering. Opposite that clip, a 9-inch Ford axle pushes factory leaf springs. That pumpkin twists a tough Denny’s driveshaft thanks to a smooth 700R4 4-speed. That momentum is countered by a floor-mount brake booster, which pushes power to two discs and two drums. The aforementioned headers dump spent gases into glasspack-style mufflers, which roar through NASCAR-style boom tubes. An electronic fuel pump siphons a custom fuel tank. And at the corners, American Racing Rodders spin 205/50ZR17 Riken Raptors in front of 255/50ZR17 Bridgestone Potenzas.
Cool in Contrast
In the 1950s, trucks were all about comfort and utility – not DVDs, wireless and navigation systems. That’s why it’s so refreshing to hop in the cab of this purposeful but nicely appointed 3100. The star of the show is custom-upholstered bucket seats and console that definitely ups the style quotient. A chrome-trimmed dash sandwiches modern air conditioning and accessory gauges. Custom door panels ride under polished window frames. Fade-free carpet is stretched tight under billet foot pedals, a polished brake handle and a tall Lokar shifter. And the driver feels the road through a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel that laps a modern, tilting column.
Easy to cruise and fun to look at, this choice Chevy should make every enthusiast smile. It backs modern performance with a solid restoration that’s ready to conquer the blacktop and stop the show! Call your friends at Elite Restomods for more information.
