If you’re a fan of classic cars and custom builds, you won’t want to miss this one. Meet the “Copper Blazer,” a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer restomod that’s turning heads at car shows nationwide. This one-of-a-kind build boasts a Translucent Copper Forgeline wheel setup, a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharged 6.2-liter LS3 crate motor, and an array of other custom features that make it stand out from the crowd.
From the tucked and re-shaped bumpers to the billet aluminum door handles and taillight bezels, the exterior of the Copper Blazer is nothing short of breathtaking. The side exit exhaust surrounds were custom designed and machined to match the gauge bezels on the custom dash panel inside, creating a cohesive look that ties the entire build together. This Blazer was even featured at the 2021 SEMA show in the Mothers booth, showcasing the level of quality and attention to detail that went into its design.
The powerplant of the Copper Blazer is a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharged 6.2-liter LS3 crate motor, painted in a matching Translucent Copper color. The engine breathes through a cold air intake that ties into the matching core support panels and custom inner fenders. Other under-hood features include Concept One pulleys, RingBrothers billet hinges, Billet Specialties valve covers, hidden coil packs, stainless cooling pipes, and XRP Hypalon hose and fittings throughout.
The power is sent through a built, paddle-shifted 6L80 6-speed automatic transmission, turning a custom-fabricated Ford 9-inch housing with a Currie Twin Track differential. The Blazer’s Nascar-style long-arm rear suspension system ensures all the power is properly planted to the ground. High-quality RideTech suspension components, AccuAir management, and their ENDO tank system provide an aggressive stance and allow the Blazer to sit over the massive Forgeline wheels, which are 20×10 upfront and 21×13.5 at the rear.
The one-off leather and suede interior and custom stereo system were done by renowned DJ Designs Interiors in Hayward, CA. It features custom-designed and machined bezels and accents around all the Dakota Digital gauge faces, paddle shifter handles, push-button start, and other controls. It also has a tilt column topped with a copper Billet Specialties steering wheel, a custom center console with cup holders, air conditioning, power windows, and USB outlets. The custom stereo system with a large LED display is the cherry on top, making this build not just a feast for the eyes, but for the ears as well.
The Copper Blazer has earned numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Builder’s Choice award at The Classic at Pismo Beach in 2021. The attention to detail, quality of workmanship, and unique design elements make this custom build a true standout in the world of classic car restomods.
